General questions about the service

Why is Artomatix a service?

Artomatix applies extremely compute intensive machine learning algorithms for both the analysis and synthesis of textures. Every texture is generated across multiple NVIDIA K80 graphics cards. By making Artomatix available in the cloud we can now offer this leading edge technology, in an affordable manner, to all varieties of developers.

Does Artomatix work on all browsers?

Google’s Chrome browser is the one we recommend.
Any browser that supports OpenGl such as Firefox and Safari will work.
Microsoft Explorer will not, as it does not support OpenGL.

Does Seam Removal work better with multiple maps?

It’s true Seam Removal works great with a diffuse input, but it works even better if a normal map and a displacement map are also included.

At the core of our technology is machine learning. The more data you provide the more our technology can learn. By providing additional maps, in particular the normal map or the displacement maps (in addition to the diffuse), the algorithms can identify the optimal texture to replace the borders and remove the seams (across all maps).

Are you applicable to other industries than the gaming industry?

Is there a stand alone solution?

Artomatix is Cloud-based. It can be accessed through Google Chrome and integrations (PS, Unity, Unreal). As our tech is so compute-intensive and we want to make sure our customers get the best and most affordable experience, our service is only available online, in the cloud.

Questions about pricing

Can I use Artomatix for Free?

Yes.

You can upload your own textures, remove the seams, grow your textures and even create an infinity tile all for free. However, when you download the texture it will contain watermarks.  

This allows you to test the service and confirm it gives you the incredible results you are looking for.

Do you have educational plans?

As we’ve been approached by a number of schools, we’ve put in place a school plan so that students can benefit from Artomatix during their studies.

Where can I find tutorials about Artomatix?

Our team is currently working on making deep tutorials about our technology so that you can fully and quickly understand all the ins and outs of it.

Do all maps need to be the same size?

At the moment, we don’t support inputs with a different size. So for example if your input is a 1k diffuse map, the optional maps have to be 1k as well.

How can I fully benefit from Infinity Tiles?

When you download an Infinity Tile, it comes with a readme document, which will explain you how to fully benefit from the technology.

Do you have a SDK? Have you an API?

We’re not a middleware company so an SDK is not needed
